The Face Shop Aqua Tint

So here's another product review from yours truly.

I love lip and cheek tints! My favorite is the one from The Body Shop, however, it has become quite expensive. I was excited when I saw the Buy 1 Take 1 promo of The Face Shop's My Lips Eat Cherry aqua tint for jut Php 225. Now that's a steal! It comes in three shades (Juicy Cherry, Juicy Red and Bloody Red ), but when I bought mine, only the Juicy Cherry shade was in stock.

It comes in a cute bottle with an equally cute label.

It's very liquidy and highly pigmented, well, for me it is.

So this is how it looks after I applied it on my cheeks and lip.

And here I am after I set it with my TFS Oil Clear compact:

I love the fact that it looks so natural, as if you have no blush on. It also lasted me the entire day, and most importantly, it did not irritate my skin.

This product is definitely a good buy!

Olay Total Effects CC Cream and The Face Shop's Oil Clear Pact

So here's another review of some of the products that I decided to try:

Olay Total Effects CC Cream (in Light) and The Face Shop's  (TFS) Oil Clear Pact (in Natural)

The Olay CC Cream (which I got from Sampleroom) is packed in a box and it comes in two shades, Light and Medium to Dark. I got light. So basically, this product promises to minimize the appearance of pores, even skin tone and give and instant brightening effect. Let's put it to the test.

As you can see, the product is dispensed from a squeeze tube, and the shade is somewhat pinkish, which is great for those with yellow undertones. The product has a nice, mild, cucumber/melon scent, which I really love. It also has SPF 15 for basic sun protection.

So here is my bare face, and the shine on my nose reduced after I applied the CC Cream. I didn't notice much of the supposed pore minimization, but my skin felt smooth and looked instantly brighter. I had quite a hard time applying the product on my face since it clogged the pores of my nose and gave a cakey appearance. I had to blend it vigorously so that the cakey appearance would disappear. On the right most picture, you can see the amount of product residue it left.

On another occasion, I used the CC Cream without any moisturizer and it blended on my skin significantly easier. So I guess, this should be more of a tinted moisturizer. Coverage? You can hardly get any, hence, you have to top it off with your trusty foundation.

As for me, I prefer the no make-up look, so I just topped it with TFS's Oil Clear pact.

It's a very cute pact and already comes with an applicator. It has a very mild floral scent, which explains the small (hardly noticeable) flower carved on the center of the powder. It has SPF 30 and PA++ rating which is a great plus for a finishing powder.

Voila! Oil and shine no more! It works! I love this powder as it made the shine go away and gave me a flawless finish.

As for lasting power...the picture below was taken about 5 hours after, without any retouch.

I can say that the Oil Clear pact did a good job from keeping me oil and shine free. I have also tried using this on its own, and it gives the same effect. The best thing is that, it's very affordable at just Php 395.

The only thing that I did not enjoy about TFS's Oil Clear pact was the shopping experience. I bought this during the time that they had a promo wherein when you buy one, you get a make up pouch free. Unfortunately, when I bought mine, the shop personnel told me that they ran out of stocks already.

aquatint freebie

This is not the first time that this has happened, and I'm not the only person who experienced it. I've heard a lot of complaints about them not being able to provide the freebies to their customers. The main point about having a promo is to encourage customers to purchase those items, and it's really disappointing when you end up not getting what was promised.

I hope that TFS does a better job handling their future promos. As for me, I think it would be a long time before I go back and shop with them.

Hope you enjoyed reading my review. Thanks for dropping by! ^_^

Eyeliner Alert!

I normally apply eye make up when I get to the office because I'm very prone to rubbing my eyes, and yawning (which makes my eyes watery) when I still feel sleepy.

Today I decided to make a short review on the eyeliner that I've been using for a couple of months now.

I bring you, Etude's Drawing Show Creamy Pencil. It's a pencil-type eyeliner that you can sharpen. It has a creamy consistency and glides easily

Etude

What I have here is the black shimmer eyeliner (shade code: BK 801). As you can see below, it has a very solid shade of black and visible shimmer. What I love about this is that if you let it sit for about a minute or two, it doesn't smudge anymore, no matter how hard you rub it. Just be careful not to wet it, because it gets real runny when you get your eyes wet.

So here's me just with my basics on:

Eyeliner applied (I like doing just a mini winged style). My technique is to apply it from the inner corner, and just work my way to the outer corner.

Tip: If you have a liquid eyeliner and aren't that comfortable with using it on its own, you could use an eyeliner pencil first for the basic layout and just layer the liquid liner on top.

I really love how bold the shade is! The shimmer is not that visible once you apply it on the crease of your eyes.

Finished look (with guest appearance of my hair brush, LOL)

I love how the eyeliner made my eyes pop and look a bit bigger!

I normally just stick to this look during weekdays since its simple and perfect for the office.

Next time I'll be sharing my weekend/night look. :)

Just the basics

To deviate a little from all the foodie posts, some of my friends requested I do a make-up review.

I'm no stranger with make-up, in fact, there was a time that I was sooooo addicted with make-up that I experimented with different brands and colors. But that was just a very impractical phase, I now stick to the ones that work for me and are not budget-breaking.

This would be my review of the basic cosmetic products I currently use on my face.

To give a run down:

1. Etude House's Goodbye Pore Ever Primer Essence

2. Maybelline's Dream Liquid Mousse (Classic Ivory - Light 2)

3. Revlon's Nearly Naked (030 - Medium Moyen)

Etude's Goodbe Pore Ever comes in a cute tube container. It's very easy to use and a little amount goes a long way. It contains a creamy liquid and blends out easily.

You could hardly notice the product after you blend it in.

barev2             After make up base

So, on the left is my bare face (just after my cleansing and toning rituals), and on the right is after I used Etude's Goodbye Pore Ever. I didn't really notice a big change on my pores, but I love using it as my make-up base.

Next stop, liquid foundation!

Maybelline

Maybelline's Dream Liquid Mousse comes in a glass bottle, with its own pump. The pump has a closing mechanism when you twist it clockwise, so you won't need to worry about it spilling.

The liquid foundation has a very thick consistency and very good coverage. The picture on the right actually shows how thick and creamy it is.

Liquid Foundation Blended

I love this product because their Classic Ivory - Light 2 shade is perfect for me! Another plus factor is that it has a matte finish and has medium coverage, so you can build it up for your preferred coverage. I use either my stippling brush or just my fingers to apply it, depending on how much time I have. Another product that I used and fell in-love with before was LancĂ´me's Tint Miracle. If you want to splurge on a liquid foundation, it's a must try!

(After applying Maybelline's Dream Liquid Mousse)

My last step is the Revlon Nearly Naked powder foundation in Medium Moyen.

Revlon Nearly Naked

As the name suggests, it has a light to sheer coverage, which makes it very light on the skin. I also love the matte finish. It comes with a small, and very thin applicator. I use my foundation brush when I apply this, since it's able to spread the powder evenly.

So this is the finished product. I love how matte my face is!

For lasting power, it just takes around 4 hours before I can see shine on my face, specially on the T-zone. The picture on the left is 4 hours after application, while the one on the right is a full 8 hours. You can see how "shiny" I've become (hehe).

After 4 hours  After 8 hours

Since I've got somewhere to be tonight, a retouch is in order. Will tell you about my favorite eyeliner next time. :)

Hope you enjoyed the post. Have a good night everyone! ^_^
